1960's ARGONNE AR-57 "Pill" Microphone, working with desk stand
. (These same mics were also released under the Calrad & Aiwa brand, among many other names.) Not only is it in nearest to prefect physical shape
, it has been sonically upgraded. The original dead crystal pickup has been removed and
a high-fidelity SM58 equivalent capsule has been installed providing strong output
. Thumbscrews hold the tilt firmly on the original support yoke, has been well cleaned, and hardwired to a 9 foot cable with a 1/4" male phono plug. (We can swap for an XLR plug if you prefer at no charge.) Style-wise, t
hese mics mimic the larger
RCA 77, and are now
highly sought after and prized by vintage mic collectors and ad photographers for their stunningly iconic looks.
Stellar shape top to bottom, and best of all it works better with strong output/full fidelity, and
